Water Resources Management and Agro-ecological Transition for Cambodia
(WAT4CAM) Program
MINISTER OF MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCE AND METEOROLOGY
Dear Visitors,
The Royal Government of Cambodia has identified the water resources sector as a key priority sector for national development both for the medium and long term. In response to this necessity and importance, the Royal Government has set out policies for the sector in the Rectangular Strategy as well as the National Strategic Development Plan as a compass for successful implementation.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has a mandate from the Royal Government of Cambodia as a key institution for the implementation of this policy on the management and physical infrastructure construction that ensures the development of water resources to serve other sectors, especially agriculture more effectively and sustainably.
In November 2018, the Royal Government of Cambodia signed a credit facility agreement with the French Agency for Development (AFD) on “Water Resource Management and Agro-ecological Transition for Cambodia (WAT4CAM), in the aim of rehabilitating irrigation systems that serve enhancing the agricultural sector in Cambodia.
On behalf of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology which is the implementing agency of the programme, I have the pleasure to introduce you this programme’s website and I do hope you find it useful for your information and interaction.
I would also like, to take this opportunity, to express my sincere appreciation to all stakeholders for their support and cooperation, mainly the French Agency for Development (AFD) for her continued support to the Royal Government of Cambodia in developing the water resources sector in Cambodia.
